Youth Action Council:

Formalized as of last spring, YAC is a group of people ages 15 through 19 who shape GRP programming, run workshops and is part of GRP's move toward being a youth-led organization. Overall, YAC is a dynamic leadership space where members collectively strengthen communication and leadership skills, contribute to programmatic decision-making and build youth powered leadership inside GRP and out! In the past, YAC members have decided the summer rock camp theme, conducted workshops, attended the Girls Rock Camp Alliance Conference as well as board meeting-- and more!

All meetings will have food, and tokens will be available as needed. Meetings, unless otherwise noted, will take place at GRP Headquarters at 1428 Germantown Ave. The term for this fall cohort will be October - December 2017. We anticipate meeting once every two weeks. Meeting dates have not been chosen as we want to pick dates/times that work best for this new group of YAC members. So in your application, be sure to give us as much information as possible about your schedule and availability!

Projects may include:

  • Shape theme & workshops at our adult rock camp, LRC
  • Help inform year-round GRP programs like workshops and after-school programs
  • Discussion and organizing in time of Trump presidency
  • Build relationships with GRP Board members and attend board meetings
  • Organize teen social gatherings
  • Attend skill-building workshops and/or trainings

Application Process

1. Submit the application form by the deadline by Sunday October 8th 2. Participate on a phone interview with GRP (we'll reach out to you!) 3. Stay tuned for announcement of new members around Friday October 13th!
