Joy as Resistance Campaign
It’s been a while! GRP has been working to be sure that we continue the work of joy, music mentorship, and liberation for all people. Currently we are serving youth at a school in West Philly and we have reignited the Youth Action Council as of January, 2023! Our intergenerational community of girls, women, and trans and gender-expansive people is at the core of our movement and we aim to continue in that way.
In the heart of youth led leadership, we are delighted to partner with Chaya Anderson in our Joy as Resistance Campaign. This campaign is focused on learning how people define the joys in their life and how identity is formed especially in the realm of online spaces. We are asking people to come together and express how they define their identity.
Joy is a form of resistance in a time where at every corner we turn, we can experience tribulation. Joy is a form of resistance in a time where at every corner we turn, we can experience police brutality, white supremacy, and transphobia. Joy is often a space where we find safety and it is expressed comfortably with the people we love the most.
Y(our) Joy is vital.
