Summer Music Institute returns!

We are excited to be having our second year of the Summer Music Institute this July! Informed by the values and existing model and methods of GRP, the Institute seeks to explore new applications of our mission. In a more relaxed summer setting, the institute will be an opportunity for current and new GRP participants to discover alternative musical applications, unified by a programmatic theme, allowing for experimentation, deeper engagement and non-traditional study. Activities will include: group lessons, improvisation, recording and editing, field trips, interviews, and writing workshops. The program will also offer an opportunity for students to collaborate on a special project: planning and curating a GRP presents… event at the end of July, which will showcase the art and music of GRP youth. 

Program starts July 7 and will run throughout July, including a culminating an event on July 26.

July 7  - July 31 Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 3 pm - 6:30 pm

Participants can drop in, like Barracuda Club, but we encourage regular attendance! Email info@girlsrockphilly.org for more information.
